New Interior Bench Seat

Hello all,

I am very slowly rebuilding a 1994 four winns interior. Anyway, I have tested the stringers and deck and all is good.

So next I would like to create a back bench seat that sits in front of the engine. I have two questions. First, what material does everyone recommend using to build the seat structure? Secondly are there any good posts out there describing the best way to build an interior bench seat?

Thanks and have a good day.

Re: New Interior Bench Seat

Hi Kevin - I am looking to find out the exact same thing! I want a good way to build it so that I can move it out of the way easily if I need to get back there as well. Let me know if you find anything and I'll do the same.

Thanks ezmobee!

I probably should add, that I have since sold the boat...I have a new project and will be building a similar setup for it as well.

The key is to think smarter not harder...just because something hasn't been done before doesn't mean it can't work.

I will be adding a hinged center 'base' section (where the base attaches to the floor) to the next one so that the whole bench collapses to the floor.

Here's a link for reference to what I ended up with:

dorelse, I have linked to your thread multiple times. I love that project. I hope the new owner of your boat enjoys it and comes to iboats! I just sold my first project boat as well and am on to another one.
