I had it on the lake today and got the bunk slicks installed on the trailer. I need to adjust the idle back up a bit because it died after it idles for a minute. Then I noticed the gas line dripping at the twist on connector, Mercury motor. The trolling motor has a pin that has slipped to one side so it lifts and locks crooked. I think I am gaining on it and should be trouble free soon. The next time out I will find out how well the bunk slicks work for launching. It was hard trying to get a fair estimate on how much they helped with the loading because of the idle problem, I had to run up on the trailer a little faster than what I wanted.

You have to love the spring shake down runs. :D The first spring after my rebuild I was a few things but this spring it was only 3 items. The idle problem is most likely the fuel connector sucking air while its running.

Re: New list

I fixed the gas line connection first by using some permatex on the threads where it screws in to the hose end. Then I adjusted the idle. Then I found out that the pin in the trolling motor was missing an end cap allowing it to slip out of place so I added a collar with a set screw to the end. I got the bunk slicks on the last time out so we are ready to try again today. I think I'm gaining on it.

Re: New list

Sounds like it, Mine is on the slip but I need to pull it and run it through a car wash, A full tub of liver fell off of a table last fishing trip out and made a mess and I need to add some star washers to the new side scan transducer and adjust it a bit. And I need to run the boat awhile and see how the tank mods are working lol and so on, and its been raining for the last 3 days.

Re: New list

We got on the water again yesterday and the permatex held up- no more gas leak. The idle was still too low and stalling out so tomorrow I will try to set it to spec. with a dwell/ tach. If it won't run at spec. I might have an electrical problem. I read somewhere that the idle can be hard to set if the spark is jumping from the wires. The new anchor winch came today so I spent most of the rainy day inside mounting it to the quick change plate and other general assembly and getting ready to mount the base plate to the boat as soon as it is dry enough outside. I was surprised that I had to remove 4 screws and pull 4 wires loose, to get the cover off, to bolt the unit to the slide out plate. It is a bigger job than I thought it would be and a little hairy trying to get the blue wires back on. The instructions make it sound pretty simple-just remove two screws and take the cover off.
