Hello all. My name is Vinny. I am just joining your forum and look forward to learning from many of you.
I am a novice boater. I have had a 12 foot aluminum rowboat and 10hp motor for a couple of years, but yesterday I purchased a real boat.
I now own a 1971 Crestliner runabout that has a tri-hull. It also has a 50hp motor that will be the subject of a future post.
I have a wife and 2 young boys (7 and 10). We live in Phoenix, AZ, but will keep our boat in a small town to the North called Strawberry. We plan to use our boat on the lakes on the Mogollon Rim lakes such as Blue Ridge Reservoir.
The Rim lakes have a horsepower limit. My plan is to remove the 50 hp outboard from this boat and put on the 1959 10hp Johnson outboard that I have. I also have a 25lb thrust trolling motor but don't know if that will be powerful enough to move this boat.
Anyways, I'll do some browsing and searching through the site and post some stuff as I get going on my adventure.
