Hello all. My name is Don and I live in NE Ohio. I have owned a few boats in my years but as I am originally from NE Texas, most of my boats were fiberglass bass boats or fish and ski types with the exception of a couple of flat bottom aluminum models.

We moved to Ohio about 10 years ago and I haven't done much boating and/or fishing since moving here. I decided that I wanted to do a little fishing so started looking for a decent used boat. Didn't want to spend a lot of money because I'm not sure how much I'll use it at this time.

Last week, I ran across an older Sea Nymph and after taking a look at it, decided to give it a try. So I am now the owner of a 1985 Sea Nymph though I'm not 100% sure exactly what the model is. I know that it says "Fish n Ski" on the side. It is 16' 7" long and has an 82" beam. It has the 1985 model 60 HP Johnson motor that it came with new.

I think it is a one owner boat but not 100% sure. I now the previous owner had owned it for many years. It is is generally very good condition. The bottom is fantastic with no dents or scrapes that I could see. The floor is very solid. It is completely usable as is but could use some upholstery work at some point in the future.

It is not exactly fishing season here in NE Ohio so it will be a while before I get to actually put it in the water and try it out but I'm hopeful that it will be a good boat. It wasn't a lot of money and hopefully it will fulfill the purpose for which it was bought.

Don't have any good pictures right now. Here are some small ones that were included in the ad that I found for the boat. If anybody can tell me what the model number is, that would be appreciated.

OK...I guess I'll answer myself. :) It appears that this is a Sea Nymph SS175.

Yes it does sound like a SS175 - if it has full width walk-thru windshield and front fishing seat insert. Owned a '90 model w/ 70 hp. Great boat, but sold it for a '87 Sea Nymph 161 Fishing Machine, as I wanted more walk around room for fishing. Even took out side steering console to use a tiller 40 hp as a 'back troller'. I found a Sea Nymph model web site a while back, and if I can find it again I'll forward it to you. Sea Nymphs are great, sturdy, quality boats - now absorbed into Lowe. I've owned four or five, and bought a 12' car-topper Sea Nymph fishing boat last week for use in small lakes, rivers & ponds. You won't go wrong with your boat - upolstery is cheap to re-do, or just buy new seats. Often floors rot out, but you said yours is good - but also easy to fix. You can't wear out these boats if you take care of them. Good luck.

Thanks. I had found that list and is how I determined it was the SS175. I'm anxious to try it out but it is going to be a while before I can do so here in NE Ohio. Oh well, that will give me time to put a little elbow grease into it and get it the way I want it. Gotta add some anchors and etc. too.
