Hi everyone, I have been browsing this site for some time and am finding a lot a info that is useful to my current problems. I bought a Bayliner Capri with the Mercruiser 470. The charging system was fried, I replaced the regulator with a used one and problem solved, she is charging at 14.5 V. So now my next challenge is the stern drive trim that is non responsive. I get nothing when I push the upper and lower button. When I push the center button I hear a click from the solenoid. Ok I checked the solenoid as per the manual. I disconnected all the wires from it and then put 12 v to the 2 small studs, then checked the continuity between the two large studs, nothing. with every thing disconnected from the solenoid there is no continuity between the large studs. I have no idea if I am doing this test correctly. If someone can guide me on how to test the solenoid and or how to test the trim that would be great. thanks Scott
