Can the stainless washer that is placed inside the fiber washer be eliminated?

I thing he meant how did the alignment check out when you tried to align it.

What engine do you have, and what's the serial number? Did you just install the new style mounts? Basically, why the question, what problem are you having.

Engine is a 5.7 crate original mercruiser s/n OF3533456. Have just replaced the original rear engine mounts with the replacement kit. The problem is simply that the front engine mounts are extremely high when the engine finally aligns and I thought that perhaps eliminitating the washer located inside the fiber washer might help somewhat. Also the depth of my aliignmment bar is 6.756 its was meassured with a miicrometer It did not speak.

most times when the rear mount is bad, you lower the motor trying to align it. saying your high could indicate the new bushings were not installed properly.
