Hi everyone,
I just bought a brand new 6hp motor for my inflatable boat and took it to the water last weekend. I started it without any problem, but had difficulty to get it restarted after several hours fishing in the middle of lake and row back to dock at last. I strictly followed the standard starting procedure on throttle handle, but no matter how hard did I pull the rope, it won't even crank. At the dock, a guy restarted it by turning the throttle a bit with one pull.
I have no experience with boating and motor, My stupid questions are:
1. how can I tell if the engine is a "warm engine" or a "cold engine", then follow the correct restart steps.
2. I tried both "start" and "RE-start" throttle positions, follow both cold start and warm start steps. None worked. But why a bit throttle helps? does it mean this engine is defective?
Thank you in advance for all your comments and responses.
