New Mercury 90 cuts off when shifted to neutral

Brand new 90 hp, 4 stroke, runs great but cuts off when I shift to neutral. Starts back up when I crank again. Is there a switch or something out of wack?

Welcome aboard.

You have a brand new outboard - Have the selling dealer fix it. Warranty work was paid for when you bought the motor.

Glad its under warranty theres a lot of new parts in a motor, if it wasn't I would guess shift position switch
Don't worry, dealer will fix this and you wont have a problem for years..
