ok so i had to replace the motor and rebuilt the water pump in the out drive.
i ran her on the hose for the first time a few mins ago, this is what i am worried about.

1: there is a little white smoke coming out of port side only nothing that will kill you but still smoke. is this normal for a new engine?

2: i notice as i give it a little throttle the oil pressure drops. what is the deal with this. ( the old engine block busted WATER IN THE OIL i reused the oil pressure sending unit i cleaned it best i could) could this be the issue?

1st let me say congrats on the new motor, (I get mine next weekend)
did you reuse the old manifolds? an dif so did you rod them out and how did your water pump look ?
and I would replace the old oil pressure gauge and sending unit BTW

What does it mean to "rod" a manifold.

when you "rod out " the manifolds is when you get a long metal rod and remove the end caps and scrape out the crude build up that is inside the manifolds so you can get water flow thru them once again.
and after you do that check to make sure that the water jacket side isnt leaking into the exhaust ports otherwise you will ruin the new motor with water intrusion:eek:
