my neighbor and I recieved a Skeeter bass boat from a friend, the deck is very rotted. We suspect some transom rot due to one of the eyelets being loose. We are debating which will be the best way to attack this problem.<br />would be a: patch the floor and pray the rest is stable enough to hold together for a couple of years. Or b: pull the cap off and replace the whole floor and inspect everything and repair as neccesary. The motor runs prety well and the hull looks very sound even the gel coat still looks ok It just saw a few to many rains without a cover or any attention.

Is pulling the cap just cutting the rivets untacking the floor and lifting. can anyone reccomend a good reference to guide a novice

Go to the library, ebay or a site like bookfinder.com and look for Runabout Renovation by Jim Anderson. Covers everything you will need.
