Its a 1989, I know it's worth more than a used engine, but it really is only worth the loan value the bank puts on it, no one that is selling anything wants to hear this, but not everone has the money in their pocket to buy something as expencive as a outboard so loan value will reduce the actual value--Bob

Thanks Bob. and You're right about the value.<br />I was wondering what to offer the guy for it. he doesn't remember if it has any hydraulics or anything else and i haven't had the opportunity to see it yet. I'm doing(or trying to do) some homework before i see it. I want to offer him a fair price if i decide i want it and he agreed to have a qualified marine mechanic(of my choosing) inspect it at his expense. Jerome

I've give quite a lot for that motor right about now. Seems value is all dependant on what it is worth to you. In my current situation, a brand new 1989 70hp would be great!<br /><br />What's his address? <grin>
