I bought a new Minn Kota 15 amp 3 bank charger. Will it be all right to mount onto inside of bass boat that is carpeted or will I need to take some of the carpet out??? I'm talking about mounting it under the rear deck lid where the gas tank & batteries are. Thanks Just wondering if the carpet could cause a fire.

It would be best if there was an air gap between the charger and the carpet. Go to Lowes or most any hardware store and buy some nylon spacers about an inch or so long. Insert a spacer on each mounting bolt so they provide the recommended air gap. The air gap helps to keep the charger cooler, thus extending it's life.
