15hp electric start 4 stroke Nissan.......Is it OK to leave the leads for the battery hooked up while the boat is not in use or would it be wise, just to play it safe, to disconnect the positive side?
I figured so, i guess its no different than your car. Though i just read through the owners manual again and it does say that after engine use to disconnect the fuel line and to disconnect the battery cord if the engine will not be used for more than 3 days.
The battery cables don't matter. Disconnect the fuel line and run the engine dry after each use.
The only time where you really should disconnect the cables is if you leave the boat in the water in an area that is subject to heavy electrolysis action.
