New Owner

I just purchased a 1988 BayLiner capri 2.3. The interior and deck are trashed. The engine is "supposed" to run. If anyone could offer tips on re-starting the engine I would appreciate your help. This is the first boat I have ever owned and I realize that there is a lot to learn on my part. I have the time, a little money and desire to get this thing in the water again. Thank You for your ideas.

Welcome to iboats!

The first thing I would do is charge the battery and check compression,after you get good readings I would start by changing the fluids,fresh fuel. Also check all of your electrical connections the be clean and tight.....then give it a go.

You also state the deck and interior is trashed You may be looking at a complete resto project....Look at some of the resto threads to see what you may be getting into :facepalm:

I am currently undergoing that task... Good luck and keep us posted on your findings
