While trying to get my impeller working, i noticed that after i ran the engine there was a milky residue that smelt like gas on the exhaust housing in the lower unit and around my water pump housing. i know oil turns this color when it comes in contact with water. water also came out of my bottom spark plug but that is most likely the water jacket gasket. now ive researched ALOT and read that my engine runs on 2 cylinders while idleing? its an 82 merc 50 2 stroke, so this is most likely unburned oil/fuel mixture correct? its also really loud, are outboard exhausts like a cars exhaust in that it will get loud as hell if the gasket is blown? lol..am i also correct in that this motor does not have a head gasket? looking at alot of diagrams and thats how is appears. alot of newb questions i know but im new to outboards lol. thanks in advance!

EDIT: also forgot to mention that this residue comes out of the prop to when water is running through it. its not globs of residue, just traces, mostly on the exhaust housing and aroung the water pump housing.
