Hi all:

Got some nasty prop damage. Actually is a fix from a previous catastrophe that came undone this weekend. Prop mechanic who did the fix mentioned that it may not hold. It didn't, so I'm in the market for a new prop.

However, when I went on the link on this page to get prices, I got a whole variety of props to choose from based on pitch. Pitches ranged from 9" thru 26".

Question: I don't know what pitch my previous prop is. Is there a standard pitch out there for this motor? Again, the motor is a 1984 Mariner 75hp (s/n 6560802). I figured middle of the road (approx. 17"?) What do you think?

Thanks for your replies.

T, take the prop off and look behind where the nut holds the prop on and also the other end and the sides. Somewhere there are some numbers.

I'm running 75 hp suzuki, just replaced prop with 13 1/2 x 15,I have read that the larger second number(outside diameter of blades) can cause boat to have trouble planeing out.
