Got my new 14 by 11 pitch prop today. I am going to install it on thursday, any suggestions? Looked at the instructions, seems straight forward, but is there anything I should be aware of, or mindful of?

thank you.

Put some anti-seize on the splines and don't forget the thrust washer.

I usually hit the splines with marine grease and make sure the prop nut is not torqued too tight, good time to see if there is any fishing line in the shaft. Pretty easy job. Good luck.

Concur use a good new cotter pin and get a good bend in it so you don't donate your prop to Davey Jones, changing a prop is probably the easiest thing you can do on a boat.

Go ahead and spring for one of those floating prop wrenches. Very handy and inexpensive. Be extremely careful not to hit anything with the new prop. You don't want your dealer to give you any grief when you exchange it for a 13.;)

Many times when i'm looking for a quick aid on how to change something whether it be on my motor or on my boat I just go to youtube. Here's a good example of a video that could help you out.

Its a lot easier if you wedge a piece of 2x4 between the prop and anti-cavitation plate so the prop doesn't spin when tightening or loosening..

Not to put too fine a point on it, but that's actually the anti-ventilation plate. Good advice though.
