Hi all,

Ran into a few rocks in river at low tide today and got rid of the tips of those funny blades on my prop hub:D

The prop came with the boat so I don't know much about it. Here are the relevant details of the boat:

1) Performance issue you are trying to correct: see above
2) Current prop manufacturer and model: no clue, came with boat, aluminum
3) Current prop diameter and pitch (required): stampled on hub: 13-3/4 x 15, some more info stamped on hub: HH88708
4) Wide open throttle ~4,5000 RPM and speed unknown (speedo doesn't seem reliable, max in the low 20's) with an average load of full tank (~18 gal) and two passengers
5) Engine: 1995 90 Hp Evinrude 2-stroke, rebuilt last year
6) Boat make model: Lund, 1994, 18ft length and 1880 lb dry weight (empty tank and no passengers)

I've owned the boat for three years and it has always felt sluggish, maybe underpowered and slow.

Any suggestions for a new prop?

Thanks for your help.

Ayuh,... What's the Rated Wot rpms for the motor,..??

Try a 13" pitch... It oughta get ya 4700/ 4800 rpms...
Go smaller if ya need more rpms..

It appears to me that a 15 is pretty close to what you need.
Without the speed to go with the rpm its difficult to tell how your setup is working.
rpm should be over 5000 and speed at least mid 30s.
But you are about 1000 rpm low of 5500. It would take a 5" pitch change to gain about 1000 rpm that would put you in a very low pitch like found on a very hard to push boat like a pontoon.
I think you have a motor issue.Could be as simple as a plug wire off or a plug not firing
Throttle may not be opening all the way. Is the bottom clean and smooth?Timing may be off.Do a compression check.
