new prop need help

I have a 1985 4cyl mercruiser and went to merc dealer today and purchased new prop and a kit came with it.prop spins fine in neutral but when I but it in gear and I spin the prop by hand it makes a clicking sound.It is dark now so I wonder what is causing this.

Clicking is normal as I understand it's the clutch dog ratcheting.
