Its the old saying, "A tach is the most important guage you can have on a boat next to a water preasure guage". If you do not know what RPM you are running, you are shooting in the dark and so are we.

Ive never even seen one, but I hear a lot about them here on the forums, and I have never heard any negative about them. People say they are easy to hook up. You will not regret it.

Hey Scott,
I have a similar boat with a 30hp honda (they too are 3cylinder 4 stroke engines). This spring I ordered a Tiny tach...they sent me TT226R-2XL and said that it was the correct model. i have not been able to get it to work properly...it reads erractically at wot.

Re: New prop suggestion, please!

I don't like the Solas alum props compared to my old MM prop. The MM prop has a more swept back rake
and the Solas was almost perpindicular(no rake)This resulted with excess cavitaion/ventilation and much slower because i had to adjust my trim holes to the second position away from transom to keep it from ventilating/cavitating.Those G3's are flat-bottom alum boats right? My hull is a similiar 14'flat bottom alum
