confused: Hi. I have a 1996 Bayliner 3 Liter Mercruser, Alpha One drive, 130HP. It has a 13 3/4" 21P prop.
It's damaged, so I was looking for a new one and repair for the old one, and I keep seeing these props with a
XHS Hub System insert.
Question, are these types Better then the standard, single piece props? Are they reliable?
And will they work on a 1996 model which came with a standard type?
Thank you in advance for your answers. Sincerely
Joe:

Re: New prop types

To me a hub system is just an added complication for the average boater.
Some systems can become stuck making quick change a little difficult at times.
Theoretically by having different hubs you could use the same prop on any number of motors.Like if you bought a different motor you could buy a different hub and use the prop on the new motor assuming it was the proper size.
I would say just stick with a standard prop assembly.
