new prop

I have an E225pxcu I replace a damage prop with the same one Solas 14.25x19R the old prop had a longer hub. When i put the new one one the splines where past the end buy 1/4 of an inch.I turned the spacer behind the prop around and it is correct. My question is my dad said you have to seat the new prop bushing? No direction came with the Solas prop. Is this something I should do and how?

Ayuh,... You've got the Wrong prop...
If it was the Same, it would be the Same, Not different...
