Hello
I need to replace the shift cable on my Bluefin 19' Sportsman 2.3 OMC Cobra. I went through the websites and got an accurate part # for the cable (987662) which generally go for @ $200.
In my search on e-bay, I found many cable deals with gaskets, shifting bellows and an array of extra parts listed under the (987661) part # for about 1/2 as much.
Does anyone know what the difference is between a shift cable with a 987662 and a 987661 and could these cables be interchangeable.
Since I will be replacing this cable only once, I will pay the $200 if necessary but if the cables are the same, I could use the extra parts that come with the 987661 cable package.
Any insight or advice would be most welcome!!
