new shift cable retrofit

hey all. i have an early model alpha drive that has the old style shift cable. i am doing my gimbal bearing so i want to do the cable as well. i am just looking for some pointers or a write up on how to drill and tap the hole for the new one. what tap style/size and drill size. thank you

When you look at the post Don linked you will see the tap size mentioned. You will not have to drill anything. Just be aware that this is not a tap you are likely to find at your local hardware store. It is a specialized straight tap - not tapered. I ended up having to buy it online.
