I bought a new starter solenoid and it does not have a terminal for the purple /yellow wire.

Maybe I am wrong but here is my understanding:
While the solenoid is energized (cranking) 12 volts is passed, through the solenoid, to the purple wire terminal to power the fuel pump via the oil pressure switch. The engine starts, the solenoid is de-energized after which the purple wire gets 12 volts from the alternator.
So, I need to supply power to the fuel pump, some how, during cranking.

You are correct. If the pur/yel wire is present at the starter wiring harness you need the outside primary stud.

Get the right starter, changing the wiring would be beyond acquiring the correct part

Thanks:
Get the correct part, too easy.
I have had this solenoid for 3 years, too scared to try installing it. My 80 year old brother in law cones to visit. A real fire plug of a guy.
Let's fix that starter, he says. Well, I don't know, I says.
It's just 2 bolts, like a chevey, he says. And away we went.
We can't get the correct part today so we took the starter out, the solenoid off and soaked it in contact cleaner, pumping the piston. Put it back together and it works very much better.
Fun
