New Stingray owner

Hey all, just bought a 2004 195 LR in great shape. It has the 4.3 GL Volvo Penta motor. Two questions though:

1. When I turn the motor off after it has run for a while, it sputters for a minute and then shuts off. In idles at about 1100 rpm in neutral. Any ideas?

2. Where can I get some information on the digital depth finder that came with the boat.

Sounds like it's idling a little high. When was the last time it had a tuneup?

I think it should idle around 600-800. It may be running hot also? Let us know if you find the problem.

go to mystingray.com with your hull number and register. They have a sticky on depth finders.

My 4.3 merc diesels too on low octane gas -- but my idle is not as high as yours. Its an idle and timing issue. I am about to tune up and hoping to be able to use 89 afterwards.

Also, I think your volvo calls for at least 89 octane (key word being "think').
