Put in a new style gimbal bearing that came in a kit with U joint bellows, exhaust bellows, etc. Since I replaced my gimbal bearing with the new style I need to remove the grease fitting and install a plug. I did some research on the plug and ordered what I thought was the correct part but it doesn't fit...wrong threads, I believe.

Does anyone have the correct part number for this plug? The part number I ordered is 10-8M2015913.

Thanks...Randy

I`d just leave the fitting and cap it. Dont think any water will get thru a 4 inch hole filled with grease

Its a 10-32 thread most likely -- Might want to try a short screw -- Stainless with a tread sealer would probably be best

Thanks guys, I think I will try the screw trick, since I already have the fitting out.

Man, that little slippery grease fitting is a ***** to try and get restarted back in that tiny, inset hole!

Ayuh,...... Grease fittin's are either 1/4"- 28, or 1/8"- pipe thread,......

Or,..... Metric,......

'n that 1 is not 1/8" pipe,.....

Edit: part number 10-8M2015913 is PLUG, (.250-28 x .320) (#10-8M2015913)
Comment: (Use with non-greased bearing)...
While FITTING For Grease is (# 22-74036)
Comment: (Use with greased bearing)

Blank off plug should have been in the box with the new bearing. Check the floor where you unboxed it. It uses a Torx head screw. Can't remember the size.
