New style shift shaft bushing

Drive 6683545 R alpha. The part number for the upper shift shaft bushing is 814308.I think this is the old style and should I be replacing it with the new style? I pulled a part number from a previous post 23 805041A2,could you guys tell me if this is the right bushing set for my drive,or if all the Alpha bell housings are the same.If that is the correct part,it seems very expensive.How effective was the old style when compared to the new?The new is ten times the price.I am considering just using old style and replacing them each time I do my impeller every other year. Any thoughts on this?Thanks-Blair

Yes. The new style is a double seal, same as the gen II, should be good for many years. The per year will be about the cost of a gallon of gas!
