I have a 1997 Crownline with a QuickSilver throttle that was discontinued and I just purchased a new one and installed myself. Everything seems fine except for a couple of things.
1. My kill switch is backwords(Run kills and off is run). I have reversed wires and same result?
2. The prop will not spin? The boat will start and rev in forward and reverse. What could this be? Did I not tighten the nut to the throttle handle enough? Please help!!
3 I don't think this is an issue but my old throttle had a trailer button and new one does not. So I have an extra wire its light purple. Everything that I have read said that purple wire is the trailor button.

I'm way ahead of you and admit I'm a idiot for attempting to do this myself!!

Please help I hope to get the boat in the water this year.

Thanks,
Chad

Re: New Throttle and Control Box

I think we need to know which unit you purchased. If there is no place for the Trailer wire then it is not a proper replacement. If there is no Trailer button then it should have a second detente n the trim button . . . ;)
