New Throttle/Shift Control - need input

Hey all,

I'm going to buy a new Throttle/Shift control for my I/O Merc Alpha 1. I've settled on the Teleflex Osprey Ch1751p.

First: Has anyone used this control? How is it?

Second: I've found this control online anywhere from 200 bucks to almost 400 bucks. Why the huge disparity? Is someone making an inferior product and marketing it as a Teleflex? I noticed that on some of the pictures online, the trim switch is flush as opposed to sticking out? So which one is it?

I am well aware that price can be a necessary deciding factor when purchasing equipment for our boats when offered multiple choices of nearly the same product.

However I strongly urge you to consider the CH1752p model as it has the kill switch feature with it. There are so many people that die when ejected from the boats and then get run over by it, that it is a "must have" feature.

Of course, if your boat already has the kill switch installed, then the CH1751p looks like a very presentable control.

And, in case you feel the kill switch lanyard is too confining, there are replacements lanyards, such as "Autotether" which permits you to move freely and still protects you and your passenger(s).
