New Tilt Sensor does not seem to be Working

Folks, I have a 1997 Four Winns with a 4.3 Volvo Penta I/O. Last year the tilt gauge stopped working and so this year I replaced the tilt sensor. No luck as the tilt gauge does not move.

Is there some way of determining whether I have a defective gauge or sensor??

I'd pull the details for you, but it doesn't appear to like my phone. Here is what you need to do to check the tilt meter: 2 ways to find this info, use the search function on this forum to find the resistance the trim meter produces or go to boatinfo dot no and find the manual for your drive. You will need to remove the trim meter from the drive and disconnect the wire harness behind your engine. Using a multimeter measure the resistance according to the specs.
