Well this was an exciting weekend on Multiple fronts. I got to meet a fellow Starmada Member

JBCurt00 it was my Pleasure to meet you I know it wasn't what we planned, and was crazy but it was still my absolute pleasure, I send my best wishes to the admiral and your family.

You all may have noticed I have had trailer problems ever since I drug this trailer home the bearings grenaded on me on I 40 in Knoxville. SO rather than going for a boat ride like we initially planned JB and I ended up in the middle of Deliverance country to pick up a new trailer. (Hey I got a new trailer for less than what I was going to pay for just an axle, and I have future plans for this trailer anyways).

I am going to replace the axle on the other trailer but the spindle is so grooved out that its going to take some time plus I am hearing around town its going to be a 3 to 4 week wait to order an axle or $285 for the right axle from tractor supply. Soo a temporary $100 fix

We were WAY out in Banjo country and just a pain in the rear to get it but it will make a decent trailer long term.

Jb Actually ended up dropping this off at the hangar as well, it was supposed to be Flipper part 2. WELL now I have a blood bath on my hands because the Admiral fell in love with it, then my dad fell in love with it, I figure I will let them fight to the death over it. Regardless it is going to be a LOOONNGGG Slow rebuild because honestly ready or not I am dropping the 115 on the Silver Lining and I am going to test dip the Carp out of her until the end of summer, I don't anticipate a completed splash because there is just so much detail work I want to do. Sorry you didn't get to see her in her best form Jb.

Busy man on the hunt, looks like you scored. Glad to hear no horror stories on the way home from deliverance territory. So you got a little jet to work on too, I wonder if the pressure of the admiral wanting her her new boat restored will overcome your well laid plans for the SL. We'll see.

Nope the lower unit is out in the TOON so I am basically moving trailers on the S/l and gonna get it on the water ASAP since at the moment it is the most turn key. I am not even going to be able to complete the stern seating before dipping it.

It's a 1963 Jupiter

It was my pleasure to help w/ the Trailer Rescue. Interesting fella that had the newly acquired trailer. Helluva spot to try & drag a trailer up & out of, but as long as the Bronco would stay running, the front mounted ball worked good. It was in what appeared to be a nearly impossible place to grab it.

I have to be honest:
Are ya kidding me, there's no way, I'm not driving any further back down this gravel road...
Was muttered more then once

Turns out the trailer location was significantly more difficult to get down to then the road above was to drive down. It was crazy, down over one heck of a steep embankment...........

I hope your Admiral & dad come to an agreement on amicable 'joint custody'

Yeah, whole trip didn't go as planned. Should have known after the Johnson City stop-over didn't go as well as I'd hoped.

Thanks again, and I enjoyed our brief boat nerd-fest

Still holding out hope that the SL thread can be found

Trailer already looks different, new bunks, new black paint, I got the 14" tires on it and lucked up that the hubs matched. I cut the old winch post off, and tomorrow will be mounting the other winch post.

I am kind of thinking about tucking the old heavier duty trailer behind the shop, to convert to a tandem axle for later use.

Yeah I think at one point I said "AWWW H*** no"

I can honestly say that I have been poking the fire between the admiral and my dad too. Dad loves it because it is the exact same model he first got to fish out of has great memories of being a teen fishing for walleye in one on the Detroit river.

The admiral says she loves the "Vintage" look.

I had to point that out to my dad.

Sounds like y'all had a mini Starmada Meet-n-Greet. And a busy weekend to boot. Nice Jup, Sig. Too bad she's causing a little family squabble. But the nice kind to have from the sounds of it. Did Burt cover your retreat!

I don't know JB I was waiting for that front mounted ball to come loose at any time but I did appreciate the good deal on the 6 gallon fuel tank

I sincerely appreciate the help of the IBOATS Admin, in recovering the Silver Lining thread but I noticed today that the dates aren't updating anymore we all know and love the story of the boat coming back to life.

We all also know that I bought a Yamaha 115 for dirt cheap, and that I have the JohnnyRude on the boat presently well. I need to get started on my using it check list unfortunately with the recent turn of events she probably isn't going to make a splash this year.

All the electrical has been reassembled after the reconstruction of the dashes.

I have mounted new fenders on the trailer (actually swapped the fenders from the old trailer to the new one I liked the high step fenders I burned up two grinders and 15 grinder disc in the process)

I have remaining at the moment.

Make and install gauge panel.
Make and install rear seating.
aluminum trim out.
install new seats
boat lighting is installed and finished.
Install depth finder and speedo tube.
Re do front bow support board in oak.
Re do rear glove box compartment in Oak.
Find and purchase a new teak ski locker door.
Paint the black further down.
Look for nicer decals to finish her out.
Remove front bow vinyl and paint white (the adhesive didn't hold).
Replace the radio antenna.

I sold the Johnson 115 today, I took a measly $850 for it, I sold it to a local shop for about $300 than I could have gotten on Craigslist but Honestly I didn't feel like dealing with Craigslist buyers.

I was pretty much ready to test dip her tomorrow, however I still just don't want to rush it. Its been about a year and a half since I started but when I am done I really just want to drop it in the water, and not have to do anything but standard maintenance for years, and I know that I want as much muscle as I can possibly put on her. If I want to save on gas I will buy a Prius but my boat is for fun and what the hey 15 gph or 11.5 gph.

I got this yesterday $400.00 on a rotten glasser, and trailer.

Motor has 100 PSI dead even on all 6. No Spark on all 6 even with the safety lanyard installed I honestly still don't believe there to be an ignition system problem so much as a previous owner hack job on the wiring. Considering I also resold the rotten glasser and trailer today for $200.00 Even if I have to put a new Stator and CDI on it, I will be in this motor for $550.00

Hopefully when its all said and done the Silver Lining will be all go and a little bit of show.
