I have a 94 procraft pro 180 and just bought a new trolling motor for it. The old one was a three wire, 24 volt system. The new is only two but also a 24v motor. The old one had a three wire, red, black, and orange connector. The new one has only two. I know how to get the 24 up front but my question is with the orange wire. All three wires are spliced off the tm connector and go to the "batt/charge" switch right next to it. With the new one, do I just cut the orange out of the equation or do I splice it to the red? Up front I have navigation light switch and also on trim switch.

A typical 3 wire tm connector is for a 12 / 24 volt system, where the the red is 24 volts and the orange is 12 volts and black is the ground.
However, it largely depends on the real wiring on the boat.
Can you trace the wires from the connector, thru the batt/charge switch and tonthe battery wiring. If so make a diagram and post it here if you need more assistance.
