Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and have some questions regarding power and performance on the Bayliner capri 15 ft with a 50 hp Force. The boat appears to be well cared for and is in mint condition, however i have seen some of the post's on here regarding speed. From what i know at the moment, it has a 12 pitch prop and the previous owner pulled a skier. What can i expect for preformance and reliablity.

Alittle history here, boating knowlegde is somewhat limited as the only other boat i have owned was a 14 foot lund fishing boat. So all i ask is patience if i ask some stupid questions. Thanks all. :D

Probably around 30-35MPH. You could probably pull a skier if they were lightweight and using two skis and there were only 2 light people in the boat. It would pull a tube just fine. Force outboards are technically obsolete and parts and service for them are dwindling.

:) Hey thanks for the come back, the speed is what i thought i would be able to do. I just bought the boat so i haven't had it on the water yet. However looking at the posts on here regarding the Force outboards i have already accepted the fact that if i can run for 2 seasons with the boat it self in such fine shape i would most likely repower to a 4 stroke mercury perhaps a little bigger than the 50 HP.

The good news is that they are simple in design. Run it until it dies. Parts can be tough to find but they aren't too hard to work on. The Force won't be worth much on trade, so run it and enjoy it!

What model year is the Bayliner and Force motor?
