Hi all, I am new to boating and this forum; and have a couple of questions. My 95 Mariner 150 seems to run well but takes a couple attempts to start and a little coaxing with the throttle. Once in a while it stalls as well but restarts fairly easily. I get an intermittent beep at lower RPM's when the bow riding higher but it seems to be using oil from the external tank. Not sure what rthe consumption should be though I've owned it for 6 months and have had it in salt water 6 times, flushing it thoroughly each time. Any suggestions? Also it came with no manual. What suould be included in an "end of season" or annual check? Thanks!

Look at the Online Manual thread at the top of the Merc forum. You might find one that is for your motor that is a free download. Otherwise order the Merc Tech manual from www.mercurypartsexpress.com . They are about a hundred bucks. The stalling could be a couple things. Dirty carbs, old fuel, or an idle adjustment. Are you pushing in the key when you cold start?

Thanks. Fuel's always been fresh. I top off soon as I get away from the water and use StaBil Blue. The guy I bought it from said I normaly shouldn't have to push the key during warm months, but to always squeeze the bulb till it gets firm. I'll look for the download and maybe pull the hoses from and hit the carbs with spray cleaner and try pushing the key every time. How lond should I hold it?
