New to Evinrude

I sold my "big", I/O boat and downsized to a 1997 18' Sunbird Neptune center console boat with an Evinrude 90 SPL on it. The package runs out real well except it seems to idle pretty high. My questions are:

1. Is there anything that I need to be wary of with a 90 SPL?
2. I don't see any mixture screws on the carbs to adjust. Is there an "idle speed" adjustment?
3. I've been told the V-4 Evinrudes are gas hogs. True?
4. Does this motor use 50:1 fuel/oil mix?

1997 90hp.
This came with a VRO pump. If it has not been disabled or removed, then there should be an oil tank for the 2-stroke oil.

Sorry, the 1997 90 SPL, (90 Special), is a non-VRO motor. However, I think there may have been a 90 VRO equipped motor made.
