New to Fiberglass Boat Repairs

I need some advice. I've been boating for 3 decades, but just acquired my first fiberglass boat last year. Soon I'll be drilling holes and making small repairs. I need some general information on what to do and what not to do when drilling, cutting, etc. That would be the extent of my work for the immediate future. I've heard that gel coat can crack when drilling and cutting, so I need education.

Is there a good source of information where I can read up on the subject? Thanks for your input. Mark

This forum has been called Boat Restoration University. I know of no other place on the web where you could go to get better info on fiberglass repair than right here. Post up some pics of your boat and the areas needing repair and you'll get some of the best advice you can get anywhere.
