Hello All,
I wanted to introduce myself. I am a 30 something engineer in the Metro Detroit area, I am an avid outdoorsman, fly-fishing, hunting, camping etc. I recently acquired my first boat, a project non the less. I look forward to the wealth of information I am sure this forum is.

Hello my name is Larry
i own a 2001 centurion and I’m looking for help.
It has a 5.7 L mercruiser and keeps blowing a fuse that is tied to the fuel pump as soon as I turn on the key. I changed the fuel pump thinking it would fix it and no luck. I have had no luck figuring this help,
‘any advice would be great

I actually also checked through the forum to see if there was a segment for introduction. Found none but stumbled on this. I am also new here and would also love to learn the craft regarding boats.

I scavenged at early 70s Lund Sportsmen, its a ~14' tri-hull, I didnt check for numbers on it but from seeing pictures i have it down to a 71-74. My plan now is to set it up multi purpose, I know this will limit the capability of it for anyone purpose but time, money, and management (aka wife) limit me to 1 boat. I want to have a boat I can fish out on Lk. St Clair on calmer days, trailer up north to fish inland lakes, and then use for some waterfowl hunting in the fall. My inspiration is the caribean flats boats, so that is the configuration I am looking to emulate. The boat is just shy of 14', I plan to add a 3' casting platform up front, and a 3' casting/poling platform in the back with an 8' lower deck section in the middle. I primarily fly fish so I want to keep the deck space as clean as possible, I am thinking of using a cooler for additional seating when needed, and removable pedestal seats when configured for hunting. The included image is the concept I am looking at and the boat in its current condition. I plan to replace the transom this summer and start major work in the late fall after hunting wraps up.

Actually that is a pretty cool boat. A micro skiff. Nice lines. It will make a wonderful fishing boat for sheltered waters.

So I have a couple questions on the work needing to be done to the boat, mostly on the products that are needed.

Transom
I plan to remove all the wood that's there now and replace with 2 layers of 3/4" marine ply. What do I use to bond the 2 sheets together? What type of glass and resin should I use over them on the interior?

Hull
There are some minor scracthes and dings, can I fill with Bondo and paint over? Is there a marine bondo? For prepping the hull prior to paint what kind of prep work is required? Sanding, priming, painting?

Interior/Casting Platforms
I plan to build front and rear platforms and coat the entire interior in non-skid, should I glass in the platforms prior to painting? Again what kind of prep is required before painting, sanding, priming, painting?

So I got the boat home, its definately water logged, so I am thinking full on restoration. Going to finish up a few projects around the house and hopefully get into this project next year some time.
