Hi, I am new to the forum and recently purchased a Larson I/O my previous boats were a 20ft Hydrostream Vulture and a 16ft Sidewinder so I have a little experience with boats but this is my first Larson and my first time dealing with an I/O setup. This boat is a 1991 18ft with a 4.3 V6 and a replacement SE 116 outdrive that has 2 years of use the engine hours are unknown since it doesn't have an hour meter I do know that the engine will need some work since I started it and it has a lower end knock and metal on metal squeal but I have checked prices on the parts and the crankshaft kit is around $200 and a master rebuild kit starts at $300. Can anyone tell me what model of Larson this is? Anything specific I should do when I get the engine out, rebuilt, and reinstall it? The kids are pretty excited to get this going so your help will be appreciated.
