Hello all. I just joined this forum today! I bought a used boat last spring it's a 2455 Bayliner Ciera Sunbridge. It's got the 5.8l OMC Cobra with the OMC outdrive. The only problem I've had so far is the starter went out on me, luckily I was at the dock when it happened. $85 later I was back on the river. So I was wondering. Where I could find a used camper top for my boat? I have found several places that will make me one but if possible I would like to find a decent used one for now.

Thanx

welcome to iboats. if you find one the condition would be questionable. bite the bullet, and have a canvas company make you one.

Try Craigslist.org in your area. That's where I found mines. It may take awhile before you actually find one that fits your truck.

You just got the boat. You are new to boating. Spend some time on the boat. Determine how you are going to use the boat. Decide if you even like boating. Ask your local Bayliner dealer what they offer. If nothing else, it will give you a good starting point. Then go to a canvas top maker, tell him how you use the boat, and tell him what you want. A custom camper back won't cost you appreciably more than a ready made one off the shelf.

Welcome to the forum.

A camper top for a boat? I'm a bit new around here too, but I havn't seen that myself. Unless of course you mean the soft canvas tops that are called bimini tops.

Have one made custom for your boat. The generic ones you buy in the store are sloppy and don't fit very good. They all are expensive but well worth the money.
Sumbrella is probably the best material. I have the Bimini top made of Vinyl and Sumbrella Cockpit and Bow Covers. They are all three 21 years old and are used all summer and have held up very well. They were custom made and fit properly.
The Bow and Cockpit covers keep out 90% of the rain water. I only wish I would have gotten the side curtains when the Bimini top was made.

Yea ive never seen a camper top for a boat. Cant ya just put one of those truck camper tops on the boat? That would be sweet! Or just buy a camper and put some toons under it and pull it behind ya.

I'm sure he is talking about a full canvas enclosure.Having one made is probably the only option.Used ones would be very hard to find for a specific model boat unless its a new model.

Ya I am talkin about the canvas top. Everyone I have talked to so far calls the short top with no sides a bimini top and the full enclosure all the way to the back a camper top. I'm pretty red neck but even I wouldn't put a fiberglass truck topper on my boat. That would be ridiculous. hahaha Anyway I guess I'll have to save some $$$ and get the custom made one. Oh and I will be taking the boater safety course this spring. And so far I love boating, most fun for dollar I've had in a long time!

This is one I do not subscribe to. I have been very sad to see each of my previous mistresses go, and I will be a disaster when or if we ever sell the Carrera . . . Even my little tinny will get a tear or two when she moves on.

Welcome aboard Pimp Daddy :)
