new to i/o drive, info appreciated

hi all<br />wondering if anyone has an opinion or suggestion regarding a package i am considering buying:<br />1988 2.3l 140 hp ford omc cobra i/o mated to a 16ft tempest bowrider. owner says there is a slight high temp issue at low throttle, goes away at higher speeds. any comments appreiated.

I dont know about cobra but on my merc a bad impellar would cause that and I think I heard that the cobra's are easy to change

Make sure you can find a shop that knows how to work on OMC drives, there are certain tricks to em that Merc only shops will not know. Impeller is an easy job. See if you can get an OMC shop manual from a Johnson/Evinrude dealer--they are very good and about the same price as aftermarket.
