Hi all, long time no post. Last time I got in way over my head with a crappy 1975 Invader Intruder that had a rotted floor and rotted stringers, along with a cracked block. Long story short, I donated it and wrote it off on my taxes.
Today I picked up a 1969 Evinrude Rogue II 210. It has 160 hrs on the original Chevy 307 sitting on its original Evinrude tilt trailer. The original owner (an old man) bought it and kept meticulous care of it. According to the Evinrude Boating Log, in 1978, it had 90 hrs on it, when he did the oil change. It was always kept in a climate-controlled building and it shows. The kid I got it from (for a non-running Titan 8500 generator, a SigPro 2340 pistol and $100) had it for a month. He bought it from the old man's friend, who got it, after the old man passed away.
The floor is 100% solid, the Ensign Blue carpet is original and completely intact, the seats have no rips and are clean (I cleaned the dirt from them tonight). All the electrical works. I have the original Owner's Manual, the Trailer Manual and the Boating Log. The only things I need to replace are the original 6.50x10 trailer tires, the prop (kid took it off to repaint and it flew out the back of his pickup) and the down tilt solenoid. It does need a good wash, polish and wax.
Here are the Craigslist pics from the kid's ad.
