Re: New to me 86 Capri 1600
Outstanding! Another 1600 on the forum! I picked up a 1600 Cuddy Cabin in 2007 and have been slowly modifying it to suit my needs. A really great little boat. The 1600 was available in a Bow Rider and Cuddy Cabin models, they both used the same hull, just the cap was changed and seat placement is a few inches different between them.
So which do you have? Cuddy or Bow rider?
One nice thing about the 1600's is they used a progressive stepped deep V hull. So it can cut the rough water and still ride smooth. Rather unusual hull design in such a small boat. The 85 hp Force should get the boat up to about 40 mph with just one or two passengers with a 19 pitch prop (that's what came on it). Boat and motor weigh about 1100 for the Bow Rider, and 1190 for the Cuddy.
