Welcome to iboats.

Antifreeze? That's new to me too. It must have been winterized, but I don't know much about winterization, as I am (and allways have been) a Florida resident.
Has anyone from up north heard of this?

i'm surely no expert but antifreeze in lower unit just doesn't sound good. i would drain it and replace with 90 weight oil before running. must be like 12footer says some type of winterization.

If your exhaust runs through your out drive its just from winterization. When you winterize you run the motor while pouring anti freez in at your water pick up(they sell kits for like $20 to do this. I use a 2 liter bottle cut in half the long way and a set of outdrive ears) till it comes out the exhaust. You shut the motor off and raise the out drive. Take the plugs out, spray some lube all in,replace the plugs and your done. That is what you all pay (a lot of $$$$$)for.
