Hello. New to the site. Just bought a 14' Mod'd-v with a 9.9 gamefisher. I'm not too familiar with these motors. Guy I bought the boat from said motor runs fine maybe has 30 hrs on it. (Long story behind why this dinasour has only 30 hrs on it). He says he just replaced the water pump last year so that should be ok. My problem is, since this motor isn't like the newer model outboards and the pee hole is obvious on the new motors, I don't know where the pee hole is or where the water is suppose to come out to ensure the water pump is working correctly and that there aren't any blockages or a bad pump involved. Thanks for any help/info given!

Actually the telltale only indicates water is being pumped motor could still have circulation problems. Most motors have some sort of relief port on the leg that water comes out of.You can also simply feel the head near the plugs.Should be too hot to
hold your hand on but not so hot it burns you.You could also spritz a little water on; it shouldn't sizzle.I don't believe it has a thermostat so will run a little cooler.

Thanks for the help! Found out why it wasn't spitting water and where its suppose to come out. I yanked the lower unit off to check for blockages and make sure the water pump was good and the water pump wasn't. It was demolished. Looked to be dry rotted. Change it out and motor runs great and spits water! Thanks again!
