Just wanted to introduce myself. I just found this site and it is just what I have been looking for. Looks like the Zodiac sections is fairly active for such a small number of end users as well. Hopefully we keep this going.
I myself bought a Zodiac Mk3 Futura brand new in 2001 with a 50hp Mercury on a tiller on the backside. I use it for pretty much everything, recreational outings with friends, tubing, fishing, and duck hunting.
As as it turns out, right now I am in the group of individuals who have broken transom syndrome. I was cleaning the boat up for the end of the season, and right after I reattached the motor, the transom started to peel away like a bananna, thank God I was on dry land and had someone close by to grab the motor with me.
My current projects with the boat include, touching up the tubes which I will post some questions on in the near future. Getting the transom fixed. Building a custom trailer since the rookie dealer I bought it from sold his first Zodiac to me and screwed me. And some little projects here and there.
Look forward to learning a thing or two.
