I have been searching and trying to find some answers to some basic questions.

First let me say I have wake boarded before but it was 15 or so years ago. The technology has changed a lot. When I wakeboarded before, I was using barrowed equipment so I do not know any of the details.
Here is what I remember or dont remember. The board seemed smaller than most I have seen at the local marine supply store. The bindings were a universal size binding that we used dish soap to slide our feet in with. I also have not seen anything like this now days.

Ido not know how long the roap was or how fast the boat driver was towing us at.

I am looking for a good board that I can also share with my teenage kids. Also the board I rode before was the same front to back and goofy foot and regular foot could ride it.

A little about me. I am 185 lbs and 40 years old. I have been a competitive amature vert skateboarder but now just ride for fun. I also like snowboarding and motocross. Technique I can relearn but trying to get caught up on the eqipment. Oh and the teenagers I will share the board with are 120 for my son and daghter. One goofy one regular. Thanks for any info.

Re: New to Wakeboarding questions.

I would look at a good mid level board, preferable a hybrid with universal open toe bindings size 8-12 .... a 136 size board should be good ... have a look on your local classifieds for a decent deal .... the rope length depends on the size wake your boat puts out, so it is up to the rider how long he/she wants the rope, I adjust my rope to where the wake is at it's biggest ... speed wise, just over plane ... hope this helps

In my opinion, I know they are a little bit more expensive, but look for CWB brand boots. They have a lockable hinge on back to get your foot in and out easier with out using dish soap or anything else for that matter. As for a board, a 136cm board, with a hybrid 3 stage rocker sounds right
