Got a new to me tow vehicle yesterday. And all its cost me so far is gas!1989 GMC Seirra, regular cab short box, 5.7l

BIL had horse-traded some used parts for it. He tells my wife after he gets it that he and I might work out a trade for the S-10 4x4 I have, but he needs to do some work to it first. That was 2 months ago, and no word since, so I had kinda give up on it. Then about middle of this week, he tells my wife for us to come get the truck, he needs the space in the yard. Just come get it and put it to use, we'll work out the details later.....

Not much to look at, well used. Throttlebody needs work, and I think the left-front coil spring is shot, needs brakes. But it'll drag my little 'ol boat and the riding mower.

Now, if I can just get some time off work to use it :(

Can't beat it for that price. Now having said that, I cry a little every time I fill my pickup with gas!

Yep. Stopped on the way home fer gas, $35, < 10gal, barely half a tank. And the story is the PO had the truck set up as a business-type tow truck, so low gears in the rear. Definently won't be a daily-driver....

Cool. I've got a '90 K1500. Had a tired 305 in it when I bought it, I had a Jasper 350 put in it which woke it right up. It's rust free and would be really cherry if it hadn't gotten caught in a hail storm last year  Only 105k miles.

I got a 05 dodge ram with a 318 and a tow package. Beats the hell out my old truck, 98 chevy silverado w/305, that used a 1/4 tank of gas getting to the ramp and than home.
