Installed new red oak transom wood on the QM yesterday. I laminated 2 1x12's together and coated with 4 coats of epoxy. Then for the inside I used 1x6 red oak also and again with 4 coats of epoxy. Total thickness including the aluminum for the hull is 2 5/8". There is just enough to get about 7 turns on the motor clamps. I decided to go as thick as possible so I'd have no worries in the future with additional motors (trolling or newer heavier outboards). All in all I'm pleased with how it turned out, the "5200" sure is messy stuff to work with! Lol.

For the seats I used 2x4's. I know it sounds cheap, in fact it was cheap lol, only $28 including paint. But for what Im using the boat for it didnt make sense to spend any more on them. I might consider making a set out of mahogany if I like the way these feel this year. I have all winter to decide...
