New Owner of a Used 08 JC Triton owner with I/0 its has Merc 350 Mag MPIV8 (300HSP), Alpha Stern Drive 1.62 ratio C
Last owner (org owner) has no service records and no local dealer for JC triton. Called Merc with Stern drive number and they recommended a 3 Blade Alum black at 17 Pitch.

The current Prop is a aftermarket 14" diameter 3 blade AL and in need of replacement. Suppose to get up to 45 with GPS tracking speed under perfect conditions and 1 person on it. Only got it to 34 but my RPM seems to be running high.

Triton length is Boat 24'6 , weights 4,150 per NADA . Want to have 4 adult with 3 kid on board and hope to pull a wake board with this boat. Looking for recommendations for prop at what idea RPM should this tank should be running at?

To determine pitch we need accurate rpm and speed using
If you were taching around 4800 rpm then your slip is high at 13%. The slip would be higher with the prop being damaged

On the other side, if you are around 4800 rpm and there is no more throttle, then I would do a compression test on the motor. Also may want to do a tune up. To turn a higher pitch prop you would need more HP, so need to find out if your motor is healthy

Tuning is being completed. Did not run a WOT test but it sounded good at that rpms. What prop size is recommended stay with 3 blade at 14 in diameter guessing it has 17 pitch . Again previous owner didn’t keep records

Without knowing numbers I'm guessing, but I would get a Tach. Merc says 17 so I would try that

Best bet is to find a prop repair shop and see if they will let you try some. Many will, you buy the prop and can bring it back and exchange if needed
